We definitely prefer Discord over WhatsApp but unfortunately it's the only one we can use at the moment. Another drawback to WhatsApp is that if you want to switch between mobile and desktop (I do it often), you have to start another call rather than seamlessly switch between, which can be a huge nuisance especially if they're sleeping and you don't want to wake them up or if they're busy with something and you don't want to bother them with having to accept a new call.Īccording to my gf, Discord eats more of her phone battery than WhatsApp, but that can be solved with using a good charger. While PiP isn’t a new feature for the company’s users.

Discord rarely has that problem in our experience. At the end of last week, WhatsApp started rolling out an improved Picture-in-Picture video call mode to iOS users. You can also record all the video calls that you make with Facetime for future reference. With FaceTime, an iPhone user can communicate with any user in the world who has in possession of either a Mac, iPhone, iPod, or iPad. It's also flaky on connection for us, as in it'll be fine for hours and hours sometimes but other times it'll disconnect randomly. Apple FaceTime is the default-free chat app for iPhone and is available on each and every iPhone. WhatsApp doesn't allow screenshare, which is what we use to watch movies together on Discord. There are some drawbacks to WhatsApp for me, though.

We use WhatsApp and Discord (when hers is working) since they can both be used on mobile and desktop!
